Young women need to be educated to be creative and critical thinkers to face the challenges of the future and to be tolerant world citizens. Fintona has always been committed to providing an environment that ensures girls have the confidence to soar and achieve their greatest potential.

Meet our Principal
Fintona is a small, innovative and caring school with a long tradition of providing girls with a love of knowledge, the courage to excel, a global outlook and a deep sense of social responsibility.
Since its commencement in 1896, Fintona has espoused the view that girls can do anything. My aim and that of our committed teachers, is for each student to develop a sense of self-worth, enthusiasm for learning, respect for others and to be optimistic about their future.
The school community is immensely proud of our reputation as a school that achieves exceptional VCE results that consistently place it among the top performers across the state.
At Fintona, the on-going development of our curriculum is testament to our commitment to provide our students with the optimal opportunity to achieve. Our curriculum allows for an effective combination of traditional subjects and innovative, challenging approaches. All students are encouraged to enjoy their learning, to show compassion and tolerance, embrace diversity and develop a sense of cultural heritage.
I am excited, as is the rest of the school community, about our plans for future development: a new Health & Well Being Centre, a revamped Junior School and a new performance space will help to invigorate our curriculum and offer new opportunities for learning.
I encourage you to take the time and find out more through our website about why girls excel at Fintona.
For those of you who have children at Fintona, I am sure that your child will never forget the wonderful time spent here.
