Fintona Girls' School is situated on a beautiful, elevated site in Balwyn spread over two campuses and only 11 kilometres east from the city.

The school grounds provide an attractive and safe environment where girls are surrounded by the history of the school as well as newer facilities.

Our Early Learning Centre was refurbished in 2008 and provides a beautiful, modern space for our young learners. Junior School students enjoy newly refurbished facilities including a Resource Centre, newly carpeted and painted classrooms, replanted courtyard and naturalistic playground. The Junior School also contains a multi-purpose hall for Assemblies and various sporting activities. On the Senior School Campus in the attractive grounds of the Tourmont historic mansion, facilities include a Resource Centre, science laboratories, courtyard where many Shakespeare Days have been held, Glencairn - our recently revamped Arts building, Drama Room, a modern Music Building - the Reid Studio and the Margaret Cunningham Hall to be used in the future as a performing arts space.

Computer laboratories, networked computers in classrooms and interactive whiteboards ensure that access to internet research and computer software is readily available.

The much anticipated Margaret Ross Centre, Fintona's new Health and Wellbeing building, due to be completed in early 2010, will provide even further opportunities for moving into the future with confidence and optimism. The Centre will include a full size gymnasium and court, weights room, dance studio, various classrooms, a staff room, storage and a cafe. It will not only give the PE and sports staff much needed, space and facilities, but also provide an opportunity to educate girls further in the importance of health and fitness and enable them to see the connection between nutrition and overall health and the responsibility for health as a life-long commitment.

Our grounds have always been much admired and visitors always comment on the lovely gardens, the way the buildings are placed on the site and the magnificent streetscape to Balwyn Road. Our grounds and facilities have more than just an aesthetic value, however, and make a significant contribution to the way the girls behave and interrelate. There is a sense of history, space to move, beauty to entrance the eye and a tranquil atmosphere to encourage pleasant interaction.
