Location of the School

Fintona Girls' School is located at 79 Balwyn Road, in the leafy eastern suburb of Balwyn (Melways Map 46 Ref D8), less than 100 metres from the corner of Whitehorse and Balwyn Roads. The school is only 11 kilometres from the city and 28 kilometres from Melbourne Airport. It is easily accessible by bus, tram or train from the eastern, northern and north-eastern suburbs.

The Junior Campus is located at 80 Balwyn Road, Balwyn opposite the Senior Campus.

School Bus

Panorama Coach Services operates a private school bus run that services the north eastern suburbs and travels from Eltham through Templestowe to the Balwyn/Camberwell area. For details ring 9438 3666 or visit www.buslines.com.au/panorama

Bus Services

Ventura Buslines offer an extensive service throughout the Doncaster/Templestowe area. Bus Route 285 from Doncaster stops outside the school. For timetable information call 9488 2100 or visit www.venturabus.com.au

Train Services

Canterbury station, a fifteen minute walk to Fintona, is the nearest train station that serves as an interchange for the Lilydale, Belgrave and Alamein lines in the east. The Lilydale and Belgrave Lines link with bus route 285 to Fintona on Canterbury Road and the Alamein Line links with bus route 285 to Fintona at Station Street, Camberwell.

For students coming from the east or outer east, you can catch the Lilydale or Belgrave train to the City and stop at Box Hill station. From there, catch the 109 tram and get off at the corner of Whitehorse and Balwyn Roads.

Tram Routes

Route 48 North Balwyn to City: Runs from the tram terminus at the corner of Doncaster and Balwyn Roads and connects with the 285 bus route along Balwyn Road from Doncaster Road to Fintona. Alternatively, you can travel by tram to Kew Junction and catch the 42 or 109 tram up Cotham Road to Balwyn Road.

Route 72 from Burke Road Camberwell to the City: Take the tram to Cotham Road to meet the 109 or 42 tram and take this to Balwyn Road.

Route 75 East Burwood to the City along Burwood Hwy: Take tram to Camberwell junction, change onto route 72 up Burke Road to meet tram 109 along Whitehorse Road.

Route 109 Box Hill to City: The 109 tram finishes outside Box Hill Central. Catch the train to Box Hill and walk down to meet tram which will bring you to the corner of Whitehorse and Balwyn Roads.
