Fintona's Swap Shop

Students wear the summer uniform (a navy blue and white striped dress and navy blue pullover) in Terms 1 and 4 and the Winter uniform (a skirt, shirt, pullover and tie) in Terms 2 and 3.

Second-hand uniforms can be purchased at the Fintona Swap Shop. Run by the Fintona Parents' Association (FPA), a committee of volunteer parents. The Swap Shop provides the opportunity for parents of Junior, Middle and Senior School students to buy and sell outgrown uniforms. All profits are returned to Fintona by the FPA to fund projects that directly benefit the girls.

Families wanting to sell their daughter's second-hand uniform can leave any items at Student Services in the Senior School, or the Junior School office at any time during office hours. Alternatively, parents can ring Naomi Murray, the Swap Shop Co-ordinator, to arrange a drop off at any other time. Please complete the Swap Shop Form and attach it to your bag of clothes.

Important Information for the Sale of Fintona's Uniform

All clothes are sold on consignment. We cannot refund or exchange items purchased. It is therefore essential to bring your daughter in to ensure that the clothes purchased fit properly. Girls are welcome to visit the Swap Shop on their own.

• All current items of uniform (including sport uniform) are accepted for sale (except shoes, socks and stockings). The website sets out the current School uniform requirements
• Items must be in good repair and of good quality and fit for sale
• Each item must arrive with a firmly attached label indicating the name of the student (past or present), and the name, address and telephone number of the person you wish a cheque sent to (any change of address should be promptly notified to ensure that you receive your cheque). Forms detailing this information are available at the Senior and Junior School offices.
• All clothing must be freshly laundered. Blazers, winter tunics/skirts and ties must be dry-cleaned and arrive for sale in the dry-cleaning bag, on a coat hanger with the cleaner's tag attached.
• Please remove all sewn-in name tags.
• Items not sold within two years become the property of the Swap Shop.

Swap Shop Opening Hours

The Swap Shop is open every Wednesday afternoon during each term from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. and is conveniently situated on the Senior School campus, on Level 1 of the Music Building at 79 Balwyn Road Balwyn.

Method of Payment

Payment can be made by cash, cheque (payable to Fintona Swap Shop) or credit card (MasterCard, VISA or Diners). Please note that EFTPOS facilities are not available.
