Welcome to our beautiful new Early Learning Centre (ELC)

At Fintona, we understand how important the early years are in a child's life. They are the foundation on which children build the rest of their lives - a unique stage where young minds learn more than at any other time.

Since we opened the ELC in 1995, we have built a reputation for providing exceptional programs in a dynamic and stimulating environment. Our programs draw from the best of theory and practice from a variety of philosophies including Reggio Emilia and the Primary Years Program(PYP) providing an international foundation and focus. In the early learning years, play forms the basis of learning . Based on our students' interests, we provide our young learners with opportunities to question, explore and discover the beauty of the world around them. We are continually improving our programs to meet the needs of our young learners and are delighted to announce the introduction of our new Pre-Prep program, the Young Thinkers, commencing in 2010.

Integral to our curriculum is the availability of specialist programs, such as library, perceptual motor program, music, art and drama, all of which deepen the learning experience. Through our strong pastoral care values, we promote respect and acceptance of others and acknowledge children's individual differences and learning styles. Parents, grandparents and special friends are always welcome at our Centre and are often seen participating in the children's learning. In 2008, our young learners moved into a new, refurbished building containing sun drenched rooms, large creative spaces, a piazza, and gardens providing even more meaningful ways for our students to interact.
