Welcome to our Senior School!

Fintona's Senior School provides a challenging academic environment where every girl is offered the opportunity to experience new challenges, find her strengths and talents and use them to achieve academic and personal success.

The Pastoral Care of our students is always at the forefront of our thinking. Our staff are concerned with the total wellbeing of each student. People are very important at Fintona and we are committed to providing a safe environment where students are aware and respectful of the needs of others.

We aim to prepare our young women for life beyond the classroom. We value the contribution our senior students make to the community as peers and leaders. Years 11 and 12 girls each have a VCE Common Room where they learn to take collective responsibility for their space and have opportunities to form close friendships with their year level.

At Fintona, all girls can become school leaders after completing a 2-3 year Leadership Program. This Program helps them develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to be a good leader. Girls can organise community involvement, plan House activities, lead assemblies and organise special events. As leaders, our students gain a real sense of their contribution to the school and the wider community.

Senior girls are offered wonderful opportunities to travel overseas on exchange programs, and participate in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and World Challenge. These opportunities allow girls to go beyond their comfort zone, learn about team work and gain a greater sense of self. They also gain a far better understanding of the world around them.
