The Margaret Ross Centre
Our new Health & Wellbeing Centre

The addition to our facilities of the Margaret Ross Centre, our new Health & Wellbeing facility, is a very exciting milestone for the whole Fintona community.
The Centre will include a full size gymnasium and court, weights room, dance studio, various classrooms, a staff room, storage and a cafe. It will not only give the Physical Education and Sports staff much needed, space and facilities, but also provide an opportunity to educate girls further in the importance of health and fitness and enable them to see the connection between nutrition and overall health and the responsibility for health as a life-long commitment.
Our new Health & Wellbeing building has been named after Margaret S Ross AM (Reid 1952), a remarkable woman of many achievements. She was an Old Fintonian, a former Chair of the Fintona Board of Management from 1987 to 1996 and a member from 1971 to 1978 and 1985 to 1996. Mrs Ross has always retained a strong interest in the School and was particularly influenced by Miss Cunningham who was her Principal during her time at Fintona. She sent two daughters to Fintona and also had one granddaughter at the School.
In 1991, Mrs Ross received the Order of Australia 'for service to the community, particularly through fund raising activities for the programs of the Baker Medical Research Institute and the Australian War Memorial Foundation and to education through Fintona Girls' School'.
Mrs Ross is a highly regarded member of the Fintona community and that regard will be permanently enshrined in the naming of the School's new building, currently in progress, as the Margaret Ross Centre.
