KEY DATES TO REMEMBER

PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS FOR A 2018 ENTRY ARE NOW CLOSED. INFORMATION FOR 2019 SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE IN DECEMBER 2017.

Fintona Girls' School is proud to offer Academic and Music scholarships to existing and new students in 2018 with outstanding ability. A Fintona Scholarship is highly valued and is an important avenue for ensuring that as many girls as possible have an opportunity to receive a first class education. The scholarship examination is conducted in part by Edutest Pty. Ltd. and an additional component is set and administered by Fintona.

All scholarships are awarded on the basis of the results of the Edutest and Fintona assigned examinations, previous school reports, student questionnaire and an interview with the Principal.

After registering, you will be contacted via email to acknowledge your registration and further information will then be requested.

What Scholarships do you offer?

The following scholarships will be offered in 2018:

Academic Scholarships
Fintona Academic Scholarships are open to students entering Years 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 in 2018.
The recipient of a Fintona Academic Scholarship will receive a 50% discount on tuition fees only from point of entry until completion of Year 12.

Music Scholarships

Fintona Music Scholarships are open to students entering Years 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 in 2018.
The recipient of a Fintona Music Scholarship will receive a 50% discount on school tuition fees from point of entry until completion of Year 12 and a weekly instrumental music lesson (term time only) with a member of the Music Department.

All Music Scholarship applicants must also complete the academic examinations. Applicants are required to submit a visual and audio recording of themselves playing their instrument. This visual and audio recording should be no more than 4 minutes long and students may choose a piece of music of their own choice.

If the applicant progresses to the next round, they will then be invited to audition (not all candidates may be offered the chance to audition). The music auditions will be conducted at Fintona. Applicants will be contacted by the Music Co-ordinator to arrange an audition time.

All candidates, who are asked to audition, should prepare two contrasting pieces and will be tested on sight reading and aural exercises appropriate for their instrument and level. Candidates should arrange for their own accompanist, if they require one.

Please note that candidates who are awarded a Fintona Music Scholarship will need to make a genuine commitment to the music program at Fintona. They will be required to participate in two music ensembles on their audition instrument as determined by the Music Co-ordinator.
