On Wednesday 24 June, Year 9 Textiles and Year 10 Fashion students showcased their designs during the debut Fintona Fashion Runway.
The textile products and garments on show were underpinned by a design process which saw students collect research, draft illustrations and collate moodboards to conceptually plan their approach. Each student creatively interpreted the brief to create something unique and worked diligently to learn technical sewing and garment construction processes. Students learnt a range of decorative textile processes and made their own original fabrics. The garments have been finished with a professional attention to detail and often inspiration from couture processes. The evening was student directed and employed the talents of Cooking Club who made a range of canapés served upon arrival.
