This week Fintona students experienced STEM Week. Girls across many year levels were given the opportunity to participate in a wide range of engaging and thought-provoking activities organised by the Maths, Science and Technology faculties. Through a number of assemblies, special guest speakers invited from industry and practical hands on exercises, an AstroTour excursion at Swinburne and a Maths Trail in the city observing geometrical shapes on buildings, the girls were informed, challenged and inspired. STEM Week culminated in a race to see which year level, from Year 7 - 12, was able to use the most amount of coins to construct geometrical shapes using 20 cent pieces. All money raised is going to a local charity.
