Aahana chosen to attend the UN Youth Australia Political Tour of the US

8 August 2017

Next January, Aahana will be one of 16 young leaders from across Australia travelling to the United States of America on a four-week tour to explore the current state of American politics.

Organised by UN Youth Australia, the purpose of the tour is to unpack and understand the intricacies of American politics through briefly looking into history and exploring the places, people, and forces that have shaped America as we know it. In each state, the group will visit monuments, museums, and memorials to better understand how notable events in American history have led us to where we are now.

The group will meet with politicians, diplomats, think-tanks, NGOs, and activists who are all currently interacting in a tumultuous time in American history. As well as attending consultations, there will be a series of interactive, educational workshops designed by UN Youth Australia that will aid in the group member's understanding.

We congratulate Aahana for securing a position on this American Political Tour after a rigorous application process and we can't wait to hear all about her experience in 2018.
