One of five winners of the Economics Olympiad in 2022, Year 12 student Maya had the opportunity to travel to the Reserve Bank of Australia for the awards ceremony.
Congratulations to Maya in Year 12 who was one of five winners in the 2022 Australian Economics Olympiad. The Olympiad is a series of fun and challenging activities aimed at refining and testing secondary school students’ knowledge of economics. Maya travelled to Sydney for the award ceremony at the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Maya had the opportunity to speak with economists in the research and modelling departments and met the Assistant Governor, Luci Ellis, Deputy Governor, Michele Bullock, and Governor, Phillip Lowe, all of whom shared valuable insights.
‘It was intriguing to hear about their lives and journeys to get to their current roles, and I am grateful to the RBA, the Education Department, and the Australian Economics Olympiad organisation for this unique opportunity,’ said Maya.
