WELCOME TO FINTONA GIRLS SCHOOL

Fintona is a small school with VCE results that consistently place it in the top schools in Victoria, providing students the opportunity to pursue a broad range of goals and ambitions for post secondary education.  Fintona girls are critical, independent thinkers, young women with a strong social conscience and excellent values, empowered to take their place as active, effective citizens and leaders.  The provision of flexible programs enables all girls to achieve their full potential academically and personally.  Fintona is non denominational and non selective.  Scholarships are available from Year 5 to Year 11.

The School is divided into four smaller “schools” to enable a specialist focus both academically and pastorally : the Early Learning Centre (co-educational), Junior School (Prep to Year 4), Middle School (Year 5 to Year 8), and Upper School (Year 9 to 12). The Early Learning Centre program is based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy, while the International Baccalaureate Organisation's Primary Years Program is taught from ELC to Year 6.

In July, two of Fintona Girls’ School students won a national Young Achievement Australia Award for their plan to export Macadamia nuts to France.   As a result of their national win, the two students were recently invited to compete with international students in Kuala Lumpur. This time the students were required to present a trade entry plan in front of an international audience on how to export guitars into Brazil.  The Fintona students came second in the world and have received a cheque for US$3,000.

Fintona is buzzing over the students’ spectacular win which has demonstrated that Fintona girls can successfully compete with the best in the world.
