We are seeking a registered psychologist to enrich our students’ personal and social development and support their mental health and wellbeing. This role is primarily performed during school term time, with additional days during non-term time as scheduled or required due to particular circumstances.
As a registered Psychologist, the School Psychologist will provide counselling, wellbeing support, referrals and advisory information to students from ELC to Year 12. In particular, this role is responsible for:
- As a member of the Wellbeing Team, devising and administering a comprehensive and meticulous program to oversee the welfare and pastoral needs of students;
- Providing psychological support to students perceived as vulnerable or at risk;
- Providing advice to colleagues and parents in supporting students in their personal development, mental health and wellbeing;
- Leading the development of school policy and strategic planning in the area of child safety;
- Conducting parent and student information forums and workshops;
- Acting as the liaison between the student, school and external specialists in the area of health and wellbeing;
- Using their professional expertise as a Psychologist to contribute to a productive and harmonious community, while also proactively identifying areas for action; and
- Acting as a Child Safety Officer and leading a team of Child Safety Officers to ensure compliance with Mandatory Reporting requirements.
The successful applicant will possess highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, and will be able to operate effectively both in a team and individually.

Fintona Girls’ School has an exciting opportunity for a skilled handy-person to join our Maintenance Team. This role offers variety through a range of tasks that include the maintenance of the School’s gardens, historical and new buildings, and by also supporting day-to-day operations.
The School is seeking a person who will be responsible for all general maintenance including:
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, plastering and painting tasks;
- General repairs;
- Set up and pack up for school events;
- School deliveries; and
- Assisting with grounds maintenance.
Previous experience in maintenance is required, while a trade qualification and experience in a similar role in a school environment highly regarded. Clear communication skills and a flexible, courteous, friendly and helpful approach to staff, students and parents alike are essential.

- VIT registration;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications;
- Current and broad knowledge of appropriate content and pedagogy in their subject area;
- Current knowledge of curriculum, resources, educational trends and schooling practices as they pertain to the role;
- Current knowledge of learning technologies in relation to the role and the delivery of the curriculum; and
- Broad knowledge of teaching practices, theory and pedagogy, particularly the Australian Curriculum and VCE, as applicable.
Fintona teachers seek out and implement new ideas and practices to enliven our students’ learning journey, provide meaningful pastoral care and embed themselves in the ethos and life of the School. Our Senior Campus teachers, Year 5 to 12, also have responsibility for a Tutor Group, with all teachers attending excursions, and those who teach Year 1 to 12 engaging in our camps program.
