Scholarships Available
Like every part of Fintona, scholarships are designed to help each student become their best.
The recipient of a Fintona Academic Excellence scholarship will receive a 50% discount on tuition fees only from point of entry until completion of Year 12.
All Academic Excellence scholarship applicants must complete the Edutest examination.
The recipient of a Fintona Music/Academic Excellence Scholarship will receive a 50% discount on school tuition fees from point of entry until completion of Year 12 and a weekly instrumental music lesson (term time only) with a member of the Music Department.
All Music/Academic Excellence Scholarship applicants must complete the Edutest examination and submit an MP4 video recording of two contrasting pieces.

The recipient of a Fintona Music Scholarship will receive a 25% discount on school tuition fees from point of entry until completion of Year 12 as well as weekly instrumental music lesson during Term time.
All Music Scholarship applicants must complete the Edutest examination and submit a video audition of two contrasting pieces. Video auditions can be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox and submitted via email to [email protected]. Should you need further advice or assistance with this, please email us.
Students who successfully pass the Music Scholarship video audition will be invited to audition in person. Applicants will be contacted by the Music Administrator to arrange an audition time.
All candidates who are asked to audition should prepare two contrasting pieces and will be tested on sight reading and aural exercises appropriate for their instrument and level. Candidates should arrange for their own accompanist if they require one.
Please note that candidates who are awarded a Fintona Music Scholarship will be required to participate in two music ensembles on their audition instrument as determined by the Music Learning Leader.
To be eligible to apply, candidates should be able to perform comfortably at the minimum AMEB or equivalent level indicated below:

Students who are currently in Year 4 or 5 may apply for a Fintona Music Scholarship if they are at a level which is 1 AMEB grade lower (only) than those listed above.
*Instruments in the “other” category may include instruments such as Guzheng, Koto, Tuba, Tuned Percussion, or anything else not listed. Please email Music Learning Leader Karen Heath for more information should your daughter wish to apply on an instrument that does not appear on the list.
All-Rounder Scholarships are open to new students entering Years 8 to 11.
The recipient of an All-Rounder Scholarship will receive up to a 30% discount on school tuition fees from point of entry until completion of Year 12. All-Rounder Scholarship applicants must submit an application form along with supporting documentation, and attend a panel interview at Fintona Girls’ School.

Benefits and Selection
Applications for Academic and Music Scholarships close in February one year ahead of commencement. For example, scholarship applications for students entering Years 5 to 11 in 2023 close in February 2022.
Applications for the Principal’s All-Rounder Scholarships close in August one year ahead of commencement. Principal’s All-Rounder Scholarship applications are reviewed on submission and interviews may be held prior to the closing date.

Scholarship Offers
Parents of students who are successful in the scholarship exam will be contacted by phone. We do not share Edutest results with families.
Acceptance of a scholarship is required within seven days of an offer.
All decisions relating to scholarships are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Scholarship results and offers are strictly confidential and must not be shared or discussed beyond your immediate family.
